Environmental Awareness Policy

Policy Statement:

At TMB Printing Pty Ltd, we recognise the importance of environmental sustainability in the modern world and are committed to minimising our environmental impact. We are dedicated to reducing waste, conserving energy, and using resources efficiently in all aspects of our operations. As part of our commitment to environmental stewardship, we strive to foster environmental awareness both within our organisation and in our relationships with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders.

Objectives:

The primary objectives of this policy are to:

  1. Reduce waste: Minimise material waste and promote recycling and re-use of resources.

  2. Conserve energy: Optimise energy usage and reduce our carbon footprint.

  3. Sustainable sourcing: Choose environmentally responsible materials and products.

  4. Environmental awareness: Educate staff, customers, and suppliers about sustainable practices.

  5. Compliance: Ensure all operations meet or exceed environmental regulations and standards.

 

Scope:

This policy applies to all employees, contractors, suppliers, and any other parties directly or indirectly associated with TMB Printing Pty Ltd's operations.

Guidelines:

  1. Waste Management:

    • We will prioritise the reduction of waste across our production processes.

    • Recycling programs will be implemented in the workplace for paper, plastics, and other materials.

    • Employees are encouraged to reduce paper usage by utilising digital systems whenever possible.

  2. Energy Efficiency:

    • We will implement energy-efficient practices throughout our facilities by using energy-efficient lighting, machinery, and HVAC systems.

    • Regular audits of energy usage will be conducted, and areas for improvement will be addressed to reduce consumption and minimise emissions.

    • Encourage staff to turn off equipment and lights when not in use and use energy-saving settings on computers and devices.

  3. Sustainable Printing Practices:

    • We will seek to utilise environmentally-friendly printing techniques, such as water-based inks, recycled paper, and FSC-certified materials.

    • We will collaborate with clients to promote the use of sustainable products and provide guidance on reducing environmental impact in printed materials.

    • We will work with suppliers to source materials that are responsibly produced and have a minimal environmental impact.

  4. Resource Conservation:

    • We will monitor and manage our resource consumption, such as paper, water, and ink, to ensure efficient use.

    • Printing jobs will be optimised to reduce material waste, such as designing layouts that maximise paper usage.

    • Employees will be encouraged to minimise personal resource consumption and adopt more eco-conscious behaviour, such as using digital communication instead of printed materials when possible.

  5. Staff Education and Training:

    • We will provide training to employees on sustainable practices and environmental issues relevant to our industry.

    • Employees will be encouraged to actively contribute to improving our sustainability efforts by suggesting eco-friendly alternatives and solutions.

    • We will promote a culture of environmental responsibility by recognising and rewarding initiatives that lead to better environmental performance.

  6. Supplier and Customer Engagement:

    • We will collaborate with suppliers who share our commitment to sustainability and environmental best practices.

    • We will offer customers environmentally conscious products and services, including eco-friendly printing options and materials.

    • We will communicate our sustainability goals and encourage customers to consider the environmental impact of their printing needs.

  7. Compliance and Reporting:

    • We will comply with all applicable environmental laws and regulations and strive to exceed minimum legal requirements where possible.

    • Regular reviews of our environmental performance will be conducted, and we will set measurable targets for improvement.

    • We will report our environmental efforts to relevant stakeholders and ensure transparency in our sustainability initiatives.

 

Environmental Impact Assessment:

TMB Printing Pty Ltd identifies and assesses the direct and indirect environmental impacts arising from our operations. These aspects and impacts are recorded and reviewed at least annually in an environmental aspects and impacts register, which is used to prioritise improvement actions and to set the targets below.

  • Direct impacts: paper and material consumption, ink and consumable use, energy and water use, and waste generation (including paper waste and chemical or solvent waste).

  • Indirect impacts: the environmental performance of our paper, ink and consumable suppliers, and the impact of freight and delivery activities.

  • Assessment method: each significant aspect is reviewed for its environmental significance, applicable legal requirements and the controls in place, with improvement actions assigned and tracked where required.

  • TMB Printing maintains an internal review register. Last review: January 2026

 

Measurable Environmental Targets:

In support of our objectives, TMB Printing Pty Ltd sets the following measurable environmental targets. Targets are reviewed annually and progress is reported as set out below. The figures shown in brackets are recommended starting points to be confirmed and adjusted by management to reflect TMB’s actual operations.

  • Recycling: recycle at least 90% of waste paper and cardboard generated on site.

  • Waste reduction: reduce paper waste from production set-up and spoilage by 10% over the next 12 months.

  • Energy: reduce energy use, or energy use per unit of production, by 5% over the next 12 months including continued transition to energy-efficient lighting and machinery.

  • Sustainable sourcing: increase the proportion of FSC-certified or recycled paper stock used to 85% of total stock.

  • Compliance: maintain zero environmental regulatory breaches, fines or prosecutions.

 

Environmental Reporting:

TMB Printing Pty Ltd maintains a report on its environmental performance.

  • Responsibility: environmental reporting is prepared by the Director.

  • Frequency: a review of environmental performance against the targets above is conducted at least annually.

  • Content: reports cover progress against targets, resource consumption trends (paper, energy, water and ink), waste and recycling information, any environmental incidents, and planned improvement actions.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Management Team: Ensure that environmental awareness and sustainability objectives are integrated into the company's strategic plans. Provide resources and support to achieve the goals outlined in this policy.

  • Employees: Actively participate in sustainability initiatives and adhere to environmentally friendly practices in their day-to-day work.

  • Suppliers and Partners: Collaborate with TMB Printing Pty Ltd to promote and maintain eco-friendly practices across the supply chain.

 

 

Review and Evaluation:

This Environmental Awareness Policy will be reviewed annually to assess its effectiveness and to ensure that TMB Printing Pty Ltd remains in alignment with current best practices, legal requirements, and environmental goals. Changes and improvements will be made as needed, and all staff will be informed of updates to the policy.
